  • K Prep Science Study: The Pond Habitat

Our Habitat study begins close to home with the pond. Science in K Prep revolves around something all children love: animals and nature! Learning from nature engages children’s powers of observation. Animals become the teachers and children are free to wonder, speculate, and build on their experiences with animals at the zoo and in nature.

  • Science Study: Habitats

We have been talking about habitats in Preschool! This week we spent some time focusing on specific habitats such as; the desert, ocean, grasslands, and arctic. The kids had fun sorting some animals into their correct habitats! We discussed what each animal needed from their environment, and if they would be able to survive elsewhere.

    WILD ABOUT ANIMALS

From Africa to Antarctica, we became part of the wild animal kingdom. We took an imaginary safari across Africa and looked through binoculars to see zebras, lions and more. We waddled like a penguin in the coldest place on Earth then we hopped on over to a continent with some unusual Down Under residents.

Visiting the African Savannah through our special binoculars!

  • Sorting by Animal Habitat

We combined science with math today and sorted our classroom animals by the type of habitat they live in.  We will begin talking about the desert habitat next month as we explore ancient and current day Egypt.
