This week Ms. Taylor made some pumpkin play-doh for the children to enjoy. The boys and girls had the chance to experience things from nature in the discovery tubs! There were sticks, leaves and scented pumpkin play-doh. The children really enjoyed using all their different senses to explore and create!
On Wednesday, our class had a very special lesson with Ms. Susan. She taught us how to make applesauce! The children had a lot of fun peeling, coring, and tasting the apples. We talked about how apples turn brown and how lemon juice can keep them from becoming brown.

We also talked about a few types of apples you might find. We painted the various colors of apples and talked about how they look and taste different.
Today was all about spiders! Ms. Laurel brought in a daddy long leg spider for all the boys and girls to see during group time. Everyone was fascinated by the spider! We counted the spiders legs and talked about things that would be stuck on a spiders web. We read the story Spider on the floor by Bill Russell. Then the children had a chance to go up to the board and stick a “fly” on our spider web. It was very sticky!
We are starting on out very first ARTSHOW projects for the year. Â It was important to talk about art and how it is unique and special to you and your talents.

“It’s wings!!!”
The KPrep class has been learning about the scientific method and doing experiments! After watching a video, we went through the steps of the scientific method as we conducted an experiment together. Â Our first experiment is below! We were trying to find out which liquid would clean the dirty pennies best (vinegar was the winner!).
The KPrep class has been learning about the forest habitat this month. Recently we have been focusing on the brown bear. Â We read “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” and made a bear hunt treasure map!
We created some cool spiders today in the Toddler room! The boys and girls painted some styrofoam cups, added button eyes and I attached some pipe cleaner legs to make some awesome orange spiders!
Today, Ms. Susan planned some fun activities for our day for our Preschool Prep students!
We had a chance to feel some “pumpkin guts” and pull out the seeds!
We also had the chance to make our own jack-o-lanterns with chalk!

Our group time activity this week is all about triangles! During group time the boys and girls stood on a triangle that Ms. Laurel taped to the floor. Then, the children counted the sides of the triangle. After that, they had a chance to come up to the board and match a triangle. The boys and girls were very busy!
