We learned today what plants need to grow…water, light, soil and air! We started our own flower garden on the playground and we will care for them throughout the summer and watch them grow.
Today we read The Carrot Seed by Ruth Krauss . The children loved looking at the BIG book and some even sat and read the story themselves! After group time the boys and girls made their own carrots by pouring some goldfish into their bag, then we tied them up to make a carrot!
We kicked off our camping theme this week with the best part of camping…S’MORES!
Today was all about strawberries! We read The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry and The Big Hungry Bear by Don and Audrey Wood. The children had a chance to make their own strawberry jam! They helped add the strawberries, the sugar and the lemon juice and then mash it all up! We hope you enjoy it at home! Next the boys and girls were able to paint with their hands to make a strawberry print! They had a ton of fun getting messy!
