{Monday}

We made “G” is for “gold” by painting the letter “G” with gold paint. We worked on our one-to-one correspondence and number recognition with pegs. We also practiced our sorting skills by sorting colored buttons.

{Wednesday: Halloween}

We continued to work on our number recognition skills by placing the correct amount of candy corn on the corn stalk. We still need a lot of work with our number recognition. We also painted spiders with our hand prints. We worked on opening and closing clothespins while practicing number recognition. We enjoyed a tasty treat from Ms. Kate: Halloween cupcakes!!! 🙂 Yummm

Students explored different ways to sort their animals today during our math study.  We sorted by habitat, how they moved (fly, walk, jump, swim), feathers/fur/scales, just to name a few!  They were very creative with they ways in which they chose to sort!

On Wednesday, we had lots of fun painting using acorns. We put paint, acorns, and paper in a container; then we shook the container. The children had a lot of fun shaking the container to make unique paintings!

On Wednesday, we practiced “painting” the letters in our first name. The children each got a chalk board and wet paint brush. I wrote the letter on their board, and they traced the letter with their wet paint brush. We also worked on a letter sort/review. The children were given a cup of foam letters that we have learned this year, and they practiced sorting them. For our art group, the children painted leaves and printed them on paper. Very pretty results!! We’re having a lot of fun in Early 3’s!!

How many ways can we sort buttons?  The students discovered a multitude of ways to sort their bucket of buttons today during our math study.  They sorted by color, shape, number of holes, size, number of sides, corners/no corners….

The preschoolers practiced letter recognition, letter sounds, uppercase/lowercase matching, and hand-eye coordination while playing with blocks today. We had so much fun building and knocking down towers! Tape some letters on your blocks for more fun at home!
