Today we continued our “wiggles and giggles” week with the theme: SHAKE! At morning tables, the children used colorful dot stampers to decorate their paper. At group time, the children sang and danced with shaky eggs to songs like “Shake My Sillies Out” and “Silly Dance Contest.” Our art experience of the day was shaking spiky balls in a pitcher to paint a picture. Our special snack of the day was created by the children {and a little bit of help from the teachers}. 😉 We made trail mix! On the playground we had fun using the easels and chalk!

Today’s theme of wiggles and giggles was JuMpInG! For morning tables, the children stamped monkeys on a yellow paper with a bed {for 5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed}. We had fun using our gross motor skills for jumping in the jump house. We painted our feet to make footprint monkeys, and we read the story of the 5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed…followed by singing the song while using the magnetic board for “acting out” the song. Our special snack was watermelon!

Today the children started out their day with morning tables: shaving cream and blocks & butcher paper w/ circle crayons. During our art time, the children painted with golf balls! They had fun shaking the tray as the golf balls rolled around to paint the picture. The children loved our “dinosaur dig” sensory tub where they can play with dinosaurs, plastic eggs, beans, colored corn kernels, and spoons. Our special snack for the day was mini popsicles.

Today we kicked off our first day of summer camp! Check out all the fun we had with bubbles, balls, and bubble wrap!

Outside we played with the bubble machine, tossed/kicked balls around, and played in the music table.

Inside we ate muffins, painted with bubble wrap, danced, sang, and read “Sea of Bath.”

We had so much fun celebrating the end of our school year! The preschoolers had a ball splashing, squirting, spraying, and soaking this week. I want to thank you for giving me the amazing opportunity to be in your children’s lives! What a FABULOUS year in the preschool room. Enjoy your summer!!

We decided to celebrate the end of the year with a teddy bear theme! 🙂 The children practiced their scooping and pouring skills by scooping and pouring “porridge” (from the 3 Little Bears). The children also had fun using their fine motor skills to decorate bears made from playdough. They enjoyed eating teddy grahams for snack and sitting at group with their teddy bears/stuffed animals. Outside we laid out a colorful blanket for the children and their stuffed animals to sit on as they ate popsicles! At the end of the day, the children received a special bag with treats!

This is a combination of Wednesday and Friday’s small groups! We have been doing LOTS of reviewing at the end of the year. Check out what our past two classes have involved:

{line dotting}

The children used their fine motor skills to follow the various types of lines by stamping dots on the lines.

{Rainbow Fish}

In this group the children learned about sharing and how happy you can be if you share. The concept of sharing is something we have talked about all year, and we want the children to understand the importance of it. The objective is to help the children’s social development.

{ocean art}

The children used bubble wrap to paint “water”, then they used stamps with various sea creatures to put in their “ocean.”

{number review}

In this group, the children practiced their fine motor skills as they traced chalk with wet paint brushes. We talked about the different numbers, and they had to tell me what number I wrote on their boards.

On Wednesday, the children had the opportunity to have a fun sensory experience as they played with aquarium rocks, water, and fish/lizards.

We have been working on shapes throughout the year, so the children used the stampers to trace the shapes that we have learned about throughout the year.
