We learned today what plants need to grow…water, light, soil and air! We started our own flower garden on the playground and we will care for them throughout the summer and watch them grow.
We kicked off our camping theme this week with the best part of camping…S’MORES!
We are raising children in such a busy world with busy parents, video games, and competitive sports. These influences can be stressful to our little ones over a long period of time. This busy pace can have a large impact on their inner joy-usually not for the better. Children’s yoga can help counter these pressures by learning self-health and relaxation techniques. Early yoga can also act as a physical activity that is not competitive. Children learn body awareness; enhance flexibility, coordination and strength. Yoga also encourages better concentration and an improved sense of calmness and relaxation. We thought this was a great way to end the year!
It’s hard to believe that the school year has come to and end. It wouldn’t be complete without some special time to enjoy our friends, favorite activities and watching movies. We had a memorable last two days in our PJ’s!
Summer has yet to make it’s official arrival, however, the weather has fooled us! To kick off the season to come, we made Summer Fruit Pizza. This delicious, kid friendly recipe was a blast to make, and even more fun to eat!
Summer Fruit Pizza:
Pillsburry pizza dough
Cream Cheese
Blueberries, strawberries, kiwi, bananas, and mandarin oranges
Directions:
1. Bake pizza crust according to package directions
2. Cut up fruit while pizza dough is cooking
3. Spread cooked dough with cream cheese, and then top with cut up fruit
We put our lessons into practice today and REUSED our milk cartons to create a NEW bird feeder! I would love some pictures to add to the blog of those great creations hanging in your tree!
