Thank you so much to Mrs. Hern, Ethan’s mom, for visiting our classroom and reading to us!
One to one correspondence is a skill that serves as foundation for many math skills. Counting and number recognition are worked on daily in the preschool room. The children practiced counting dots on a die and counting leaves individually to fill their tree.
All month long the preschoolers will be working on sorting. Introduction to simple classifying and sorting builds a foundation for math skills. We had fun separating the beans by color today.
Gross motor play is extremely important in the preschool years. The children LOVE to spend time outdoors on the playground. So send a coat, and eventually mittens and hats, with your little one because we will continue our fun on the playground as it gets colder outside!
Free Choice Time is especially fun on the first day of new centers! The preschoolers loved exploring and discovering all the new activities in our classroom this morning.
Today we added fall leaves to tree trunks while practicing the letters of our name. Ask your preschooler to tell you all the letters in their name!
