  • Art Show 2011

We were astounded at the turnout at our art show again this year.  The children have been working so hard over the past two months on all of their masterpieces and we were so excited to see all of the families come out and celebrate their accomplishments with them!  It’s amazing what children can accomplish when given the opportunity and the right tools.  We are so very proud of each and every one of them.  It was their night to shine and we were honored to be a part of if.  A BIG thank you to Ms. Penny who helped create such wonderful art experiences for our students in the preschool and pre-k classes. Her enthusiasm and excitement for teaching children about art and the famous artists that came before us sparks the imagination of our young students in a way that makes them feel like anything is possible at any age.

  • Counting for Dinner

The Early 3’s have been learning to identify the numbers 1-5. They practiced reading numbers written on paper plates and filling the plate with the correct amount of food. This was a great way to practice reading the numbers, counting out the food, and work on one-to-one correspondence all at the same time!

  • Parts of A Tree

We’ve been talking all about trees this month! The Early 3’s got to take a closer look at the parts of a tree on Friday. We talked about the bark, leaves, trunk, and branches. The children talked about how each part felt, what it looked like, and how it smelled.

  • Fall Y’s

The Early 3’s have been learning to identify the letter Y and its corresponding sound. Today we decided to dress our “Y” in fall leaves to keep it festive for our November theme of nature. We have been looking for the letter “Y” in words that we use and in our friends names. Ask your early 3 to sing you “The Letter Y Song”.

  • The Early 3’s Tell Spooky Stories

The Early 3’s had a SPOOKTACULAR time telling scary stories with the Halloween finger puppets today! This was a great way to work on oral story telling while still having fun for Halloween! The early 3’s made up stories about spooky flying bats and cackling witches. You can make up stories with your child using objects and toys you have at home!

  • What’s Missing From the Letter H?

The Early 3’s put their detective caps on today when they had to look at the letter H and figure out what was missing! When they figured it out, they used crayons to finish the letter. Good work detectives!

  • We Can Make Horizontal and Vertical Lines!

We have been working very hard on our writing in Early 3’s! Today we wrote with our fingers…in the shaving cream! We worked on making horizontal and vertical lines. These activities lead to the ability to form letters and numbers. Next time you take your preschooler to the park, show them how to make lines in the sand!
