We have so much fun using paint dotters in the Toddler classroom. And this is a great activity to strengthen their fine motor and hand-eye coordination skills.
Today we drew a few pumpkins on butcher paper. Inside our pumpkins we drew small circles for the toddlers to dot on.

Today during our group time, I talked to the children about our new season: fall! I taped oak and maple leaves and evergreen twigs onto the bottom of the carpet circles that the children sit on. I had each child take a turn flipping over their circle to discover which leaf was under their circle, and they brought it up to me. After I had collected all of the leaves, they helped me sort them. We talked about the leaves vs. the evergreen twigs. To conclude our activity, we read “We’re Going on a Leaf Hunt” by Steve Metzger.
We have been talking about the different traits of the Giant Panda of China. To the touch, their fur feels oily. This oily protective coating helps protects giant pandas from the cool and damp climate in which the bear lives.
Today we colored the black patches of fur with oil pastels and then blended it with our fingers and oil.
Yoga at an early age encourages self-esteem and body awareness with a physical activity that’s noncompetitive. Fostering cooperation and compassion—instead of opposition—is a great gift to give our children.
Children derive enormous benefits from yoga. Physically, it enhances their flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness. In addition, their concentration and sense of calmness and relaxation improves.
