Our little gardeners earned their green thumbs today!
The boys and girls love vegetables…..well, painting with them! Today we read Up, Down, and Around by Katherine Ayres and talked about the different colors of vegetables and their names. Then the children made vegetable prints with eggplants, peppers and broccoli! It was a fun new way to paint!
Body Painting, Sprinklers, Beach Balls, and Friends kicked off a great, first, Water Wednesday! Next Week – Bubble Pools!
We learned today what plants need to grow…water, light, soil and air! We started our own flower garden on the playground and we will care for them throughout the summer and watch them grow.
Today we read The Carrot Seed by Ruth Krauss . The children loved looking at the BIG book and some even sat and read the story themselves! After group time the boys and girls made their own carrots by pouring some goldfish into their bag, then we tied them up to make a carrot!
We kicked off our camping theme this week with the best part of camping…S’MORES!
