This morning in preschool we had lots of Halloween fun! We made a spider web from tape and threw cotton balls to see how many “bugs” our web could catch. This is a very easy activity to play in a door way at home. Good hand-eye coordination practice as well!
Fine motor, fine motor, fine motor! We put those little muscles to work while making a Halloween jack-o-lantern.
Hope everyone had a blast at the Harvest Festival on Friday! What a great turnout!
Enjoy Trick-or-Treating tonight!!
The Early 3’s had a SPOOKTACULAR time telling scary stories with the Halloween finger puppets today! This was a great way to work on oral story telling while still having fun for Halloween! The early 3’s made up stories about spooky flying bats and cackling witches. You can make up stories with your child using objects and toys you have at home!
The Toddlers had a spooktacular day at school! To celebrate Halloween, we sang “5 Little Pumpkins Sitting on a Gate”, read a spooky story, and made silly jack-o-lanterns. The boys and girls used their fine motor skills to add a face to their pumpkins. We hope that all of our Toddler friends have a fun and safe night trick-or-treating!!
The Early 3’s put their detective caps on today when they had to look at the letter H and figure out what was missing! When they figured it out, they used crayons to finish the letter. Good work detectives!
We have been working very hard on our writing in Early 3’s! Today we wrote with our fingers…in the shaving cream! We worked on making horizontal and vertical lines. These activities lead to the ability to form letters and numbers. Next time you take your preschooler to the park, show them how to make lines in the sand!
We ended our unit on China today with a Chinese Food Tasting! The children tried all different types of foods from China. They did a great job using their chopsticks and trying new foods. I was amazed at how many children loved it!
