I apologize for not posting on Monday. I was having some technical difficulties with the blog/photos! It is up and running now! I included some of Monday’s photos along with today’s photos.

MONDAY:

We practiced writing vertical and horizontal lines. We made “M” is for “Mountain” with sponges and paint. We also continued to work on the letters in our names. Here are a few photos from the day….

TODAY (WEDNESDAY):

Today we continued to work on our letter of the week: “M.” We practiced our fine motor skills as we glued small pieces of paper to an “M.” We painted circles (our shape of the month) with cut-up pool noodles. LOVED how these turned out. We also worked on our shape of the month by playing a matching game. Then we played “Circle or Not” where the children had to identify whether or not a shape was a circle…or not! 🙂 We have begun a new name recognition activity during our second group time during the day. The children are definitely getting the hang of recognizing their names. I’m so excited!!! So much progress!!

Happy Birthday to Kiran!! We enjoyed some yummy cupcakes to celebrate his birthday today! Today we had fun playing with the discovery paint bags and finger painting. 🙂

Today Ms. Joanie came to our class to sing and play instruments with us! We always love having her in our class! She even brought her special gold sheet for “5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed.” Today we practiced holding a large crayon to draw and build our pre-writing skills. In small groups today we had fun with an “I Spy Alphabet Bag” –hair gel in a ziplock bag with foam letters. The children had to look for the first letter of their name, as well as the letter of the week (“Z”). We worked on our one-to-one correspondence by taking turns passing out sparkly pom-poms for each friend to put in their bowls. We are continuing to practice recognizing our names and the letters in our names. Today we molded play dough into the letters in our name. Hope you have a fantastic weekend! See you Monday!!

The highlight of our day today was singing and playing instruments with Ms. Joanie!! Check out the fun photos from our musical Friday morning!

The preschoolers worked out identifying their letters and numbers today. Next, they traced the letter or number with their finger while erasing it. This is great formation and fine motor practice. Have fun playing at home!
