  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

On Wednesday, we had fun painting mud on pigs to go along with our “Farm” theme. We worked on our letter for the week: “F.” We played a game where the children picked a card with a picture on it. They would then determine if the item/animal started with an “F” or not.

  • Vincent Van Gogh Study: Top Secret Art Show Work in Progress!

We learned about the life of Vincent Van Gogh today and about many of his famous paintings!  We tried our hand at a unique painting technique that he used in many of his masterpieces as we created our very own for the art show.  Our Art Show is March 8th this year!  Mark Your Calendars!

    BINGO!

  • In our toddler class today, we had fun building our fine motor skills by transferring rocks from a cup to a bowl with a pair of tongs. Definitely an excellent challenge that will help them strengthen these skills.

  • Lots going on in the Early 3’s class!! Today we practiced our new letter: “F.” We practiced “writing” F’s with stampers. We made “F is for Fall” for our alphabet book. We also made roosters with our footprints! {sorry…I don’t have any photos of that!} During our group time, we learned about our shape of the month: triangle. We practiced recognizing and saying the name. We also read an exciting book called “Who’s in the Shed.” Once I had finished the story, they wanted me to read it again. 🙂 I introduced the children to the numbers 4 and 5 today, as well. We will continue working on these numbers along with numbers 1-3. The children are quickly catching on to our name recognition game. They are learning the letters in their name so quickly!! I’m so proud of them! Definitely a great start to our week!

  • We are back to our normal routine after our photo day on Wednesday. Today we practiced our lacing skills during small group and free play. This is important for fine motor development and eye-hand coordination. Also, one of our groups played a game where they flipped over cards and looked at the picture on the card. They, then, had to determine whether or not the picture was a picture of something that started with a “P” or not. They picked up on the game very quickly as they listened for the beginning of the word to have that “p” sound or not. In our art small group, the children painted trees with their hands/arms. They will add leaves next week. Lots going on today!! Have a fantastic weekend!!

  • Today we went back to our normal routine after a few days of picture day! 🙂 We had fun playing with gak and making art with animal stamps. Our theme for this month is Farm/Fall….and the children love when we sing Old McDonald Had a Farm during group time. (I include magnetic photos of each animal in our song.)
