After reading the book “Mouse Shapes”, we learned that shapes are all around us! The KPrep and Preschool classes made pictures using the 2D shapes we learned about.
The KPrep Class learned all about animals in the African Savanna last month! We acted out being lions and zebras after learning that zebras protect themselves from the lions by huddling in groups. The mix of white and black stripes make it hard for the lion to hunt one zebra!
With the new month here and it still being so cold we decided to change things up a little in the Toddler room! We have all new toys out and moved some centers around to keep our toddlers excited and busy. The boys and girls really seem to be liking the new room!
We practiced the confusing curves of the letter s today in small groups. First, we traced each S with our finger. Then, we wrote the letter S with our magic maker. Last, we used mini magic eraser to work our fine motor muscles and traced over the S’s to magically make the line disappear!

On this gloomy day we needed something to cheer us up! During art the boys and girls made rain clouds with rainbow rain drops. These pieces of art definitely brighten up our day!
We placed baking soda and heart glitter into the tray and took turns squirting vinegar in the hearts to watch them foam up. We then talked about what was happening and what they saw when they put the vinegar in.
Conversation heart experiment: We tested conversation hearts with coke, vinegar, water, and rubbing alcohol.
