We had fun this week celebrating Easter in Preschool!  We went on a Easter egg hunt around our classroom and found eggs filled with letters.  For each letter, we named it, said the sound it made, and a word that started with that letter!

We made an Easter Chick art project!

We also played The Easter Egg Toss and we tossed an egg into a bowl with the letters we have been reviewing!  We had to name the letter, say the sound, and a word that started with it!

To practice our counting skills, we counted jelly beans up to ten and then got to eat them!!

And for some art exploration we painted with Easter eggs!  We had so much fun this week!

We had so much fun celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in the Preschool Classroom!  We did a fun art activity where we learned about the order of colors in the rainbow and painted using Q-tips!

A Leprechaun snuck onto our playground and hid gold EVERYWHERE! We got to take a pot and find some gold coins that he left!

For snack, we made rainbows out of fruit loops and marshmallows.  They were so delicious!

To practice number order, we ordered our shamrocks from 1 to 10!

The Preschool Prep class had a blast celebrating St. Patrick’s Day! They were able to go on a gold hunt, complete St. Patrick’s Day crafts, and have a yummy shamrock shaped treat!

We read the story “The Very Busy Spider” by Eric Carle, and made our very own class spider web!

The toddlers had such a fun week at Creative Tots celebrating St. Patrick’s Day! We started off the week painting leprechaun beards, using a fork instead of a paintbrush, for our pot of gold and leprechaun craft. Our other craft was practicing ripping tissue paper, which is one of our objectives this month (and great for hand strengthening), and then they used the ripped paper to make a shamrock.

We also had some St. Patty’s Day-themed activities for our friends to enjoy, such as St. Patrick’s Day discovery bins, and a shamrock toss!

Our St. Patty’s day snack was made by our friends by smearing on some white icing and then they got “magic” green sprinkles 😉 It was a hit!

We went on a gold hunt! That sneaky leprechaun hid gold coins all over our classroom. Our toddlers had to search around our classroom and find 5 gold coins each. They had such a fun time hunting for gold!

Yesterday we had a science visit from the Cincinnati Museum Center!  We got to learn all about insects and explore some fun activities as well as see and touch some very large Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches!

Each student got a bag of insect parts and we learned the names of the body parts and put our insects together!

We got to wear some silly glasses that made us look like bugs and allowed us to see a little like an insect would!

We got to explore with magnifying glasses and see some real insects that have been preserved as well as look at lots of pictures of different insects.

We even got to see and some of us even wanted to touch the Madagascar Hissing Cockroach! He was so big!

The month of March is focused on the color purple. We made purple play-dough, painted with purple paint using oval cookie cutters, colored with purple crayons, stamped on purple paper, sorted different purple objects that we found around our classroom, and had a purple snack with purple grape juice! Purple party! We try to incorporate our monthly learning objectives (which you can find in the monthly newsletters) into each of our activities. You will also spy our shape of the month, which is oval, in our different centers and projects.

We had so much fun celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday today!  We read Dr. Seuss books, completed a rhyming activity, did a Cat in the Hat name building craft, and played Dr. Seuss bingo! The children were able to enjoy a delicious Cat in the Hat snack as well!
